Recruitment
Thank you for taking the time to visit TATENOKAWA, Inc.'s recruitment page.
Since its inauguration in 1832, TATENOKAWA, Inc. has been making authentic sake by hand, using traditional methods, using only the basics for almost 180 years.
And in 2010, in order to achieve a new 100 year vision, we established ourselves as one of the only breweries to switch to a completely Junmai Daiginjo-only production.
Additionally, in 2011, we formulated a vision for the company, management and HR.
We are in search of new comrades who will work and grow together with the company, to help us in our pursuit of a craftsmanship that is adored by many, to become a company that continues to flourish for another 100 years, moreover someone that may in the future go on to join the top brass of management. Please also read the staff interviews section.
A company is a place where employees can grow, a place of self-fulfilment.
We want employees who see the company in a good way, as a field or opportunity where they exhibit their strengths freely in order to fulfil their dreams.
We will only recruit people who share our 3 visions, who can be flexible and adapt towards the trends of the market, of the world; the customer's needs; the structure of the company; and who can operate in the field that is the company, to work without limits and achieve personal development.
Furthermore, here at TATENOKAWA, Inc., there are things that we consider to be more important than whether you can or cannot actually do the job.
- 1.A proper greeting
- 2.Punctuality
- 3.Following the rules
- 4.Organisation, orderliness, cleanliness, hygiene, discipline
- 5.Truthfullness
- 6.Modesty
They may seem like quite basic things but we have decided that we will only recruit people who can manage these 6 principles.
That is because we consider the company to be a place where one polishes their human nature.
Before you can make good sake the most important thing is to improve your human nature.
Even if it takes a bit of time, we believe that anyone who can manage the above 6 principles can make good sake and products that will be received well by the customer.
To ensure the company's survival, we have begun creating new markets and products that set us apart from other breweries, like for example our Japanese liqueur and Japanese style Makkori ranges.
This we will of course continue because that is TATENOKAWA, Inc.'s identity.
We will happily recruit anyone who can adhere to the above 3 visions and the principles that we consider important, and who possesses the passion to develop as a human being and express themselves at TATENOKAWA, Inc.
We await your application

I joined this company because I like sake. In sake you have a luxury item, traditional craftsmanship, agriculturally manufactured product, Japanese traditional culture, a connection with Japanese cuisine and many other different aspects rolled into one. When you find something amongst all that you really love, then you have an opportunity to make that it into a career.

When I become the kind of sales person who it is fun to work with and who puts forwards proposals that help the customer. The ideal is to turn "TATENOKAWA", "KODAKARA" and "HOMERUN MAKKORI" into brands that everyone who has tried sake has tried or wants to try at least once
Sake is not an everyday essential item; it is however an item that can enrich life. There are all kinds of different sakes out there, but I want to make the sake that TATENOKAWA, Inc. makes into something that is never forgotten, in whatever form it takes: be that as a sake filled with memories, a special sake or an every day sake.
5. Do you have a message for the high school and university students who are out there job hunting right now?
TATENOKAWA, Inc. is a small organization but one that positions you very close to the CEO. If you tell him what you want to achieve, what you are thinking, there will always be a chance to make dreams a reality. Why not fulfil your dreams at TATENOKAWA, Inc.?
